Sew Cute!

Wow I wish I could sew! One of a few crafts I wish I would make the time to learn and add to my list of things dabble in.
Thanks to the wonder of Facebook, I connected with an old childhood friend of mine. She also blogs, and features an ETSY store of the week. This week: ThomasPark. They are doing a giveaway. Check out her blog Stellbelle & Rubylou to get in on it! I sure got entered! I am IN LOVE with the Audrey Dress. Callie would go nuts for this Twirlly Dress! So many patterns to choose from. I'd never get her in a pair of pants again!

A Capital Idea!

So many adventures, so little time! This one needs to be posted now while it's still a hot topic. A picture of our current events, through the eyes of a 9 yr old!
We just happenend to be in the area, so I decided to take Trent to witness a part of history. We went to check out the action at The Capital. Can't go on Facebook with out seeing the comment wars. (PLEASE NO COMMENT WARS HERE! I am Switzerland!) I don't follow politics. I don't even watch the news or read the news paper, but this is an event everyone knows about. After driving for 20 minutes to find a parking spot which ended up being in somone's apartment complex spot, shhhhhh! (The conflict brought the rebel out of me!) Here's our little brush with the winds of change.

Once again, Trent comes though with the most perfect thing to say. "It's like a parade, but I don't know if they are going to throw candy or torches!" I can cofidently say, not once did I feel unsafe.

An Admiral-able Birthday

Happy Birthday Trent and Marshall. What a way to celebrate your special days, Skating at the Admiral's Game! Woo Hoo! I was even able to get Trent's name announced at the game and up on the marquee. I do have to say this year was pretty cool. (Click here to read about last year) Since I was the event coordinator, I made sure we really did it up! Trent had the opportunity to be announced in the line-up with the Admirals players at the beginning of the game. While they were waiting for that to happen, they also got to hang out with a couple of the Superbowl Champion - Green Bay Packers. Jordy Nelson, James Jones and Desmond Bishop. I had gone up to get into position for the line-up, so I missed that photo-op, but they got signed pictures from the players.
Once again. Thanks to the Milwaukee Admirals Organization for providing such an amazing opportunity for these boys!

Trent was also lucky enough to celebrate his birthday with a new bike!

And Dirt Cake by request.

Spring?

Not yet, but a whole flock of these welcomed visitors gobbled up every last berry on the tree in our front yard today.
Trent's birthday is 2 weeks away, that means next weekend will be beautiful. The weekend before his birthday has always given us a little taste of what's to come! Plus, the groundhog finally saw his shadow this year!

A Glimpse Into the Future.

The H.S. cheerleaders hosted a cheer clinic for the elementary girls complete with a chance to try out the pyramid, (which I didn't think was such a good idea!) and performance at the girls basketball game. Of course TwinkleToes are the shoe of choice for a future cheerleader.

Love All Around Us

Happy Valentine's Day.
No use crying over spilled milk. Especially when it's heart shaped. Not exactly my idea of a Valentine! I liked the chocolate fondue better!

Our Hockey Life

About this time of year we start to say to ourselves, "will it ever end?". The hockey season that is! It's a love/hate relationship. We do love it, but there comes a time when we need to let our love go for a little bit so we can love it even more when it comes back!
The great thing is, pond hockey renews the interest a little. At least once or twice a year we get to go skate on the Lake. Usually weather permitting one of those times is for Gran and Leah's birthday. A great day for a skate.
This year one of the neighborhood Dad's organized a little game for the boys in Trent's class. Trent was severely handicapped by the fact that is was a boots only game! I had so much fun watching these boys enjoy themselves so much.
We were lucky with ice conditions this year. Actually got out 4 times!
One more month of hockey. We can do it! I'll just keep looking forward to my perennial favorite:Skating at the Admirals Game!
