Opewation Wabbit Wescue and the Weaky Window Well!
We find all kinds of things in out basement window wells. This time it was a tiny baby rabbit.
Trent loves any reason to climb around in there.
Most recently we've had soooo much rain the ground has been saturated and now our basement is leaking. The window well spung a leak and filled up to the base of the window!

We spent an hour bailing water out of it! That was a panic! So glad we were home to notice it happening! I would much rather find frogs in the window well than water!

4th of July
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
We had to pick-up some last minute items at the store and the reciept total came to $17.76. The cashier didn't get it. Kids these days!
The weather couldn't have been better. Each night the sunsets were amazing.
Two dilema's with our family fireworks. I missed the memo on what day they were happening and was not prepared with the camera. Of course I HAD my camera, but the battery was running REALLY low and my card was full after Marshall's Africa trip. I had resigned myself to not taking any fireworks pics this year. It might be fun to just watch them anyway. Luckily Kim's Cousin Mark saved the day. He is a professional and also shoots with Canon. I couldn't believe it, but his battery fit my camera!
What do you get when you add Red, White, Blue and Orange?
Walking Taco's on the 4th of July that's what! What's more American than that? Well, maybe Baseball! Great time playing in the field, complete with picnic table backstop
The Supra just doesn't go fast enough for this girl. Too fast for Jack though!
Trent had some high-flying fun!
I know Trent was there for the week long celebration, but I didn't see him much. He was very busy in the paddleboat with his turtle net. I think the grand total was 9 turtles. Plus several dragonflies and a couple frogs and toads.6.30.2011
Take me out to the Ball Game....
Lots of this....
Yeah, its a Park n'Rec team but not everyone gets to play. The Coach is IN-T-E-N-S-E! In fact he tried to convince me to have Trent play with the 7 & 8 year olds. Umm, NO. Nice guy, way to build a kid's confidence! The good kids keep getting better and the not so good kids get left kicking sand. I could go on, but will say, it really gives me a different perspective going into this next hockey season.
Speaking of hockey, check out this Baseball Goalie.
"Cover your short side, stick on the ice, don't get deep." (Name the movie Luke.)I like to see the best in people, so I can say he does have a few redeeming qualities. We'll be chalking this one up to one of those life lessons. Sometimes your leaders aren't always the best leaders but they're the one you're stuck with. Make the best of it.
In between games where he wants to quit, there are fun times. Trent had a "Major League" moment. Walking the field at the Brewer's Game.
He said he felt, "so small." It happened so fast I didn't even see Trent, luckily I just kept snapping away and found him in the picture later. Nothing beats the opportunities the Admirals offer, but this was cool.
When Trent was 6mo. old. We drove down to the "Field of Dreams" in Dyersville Iowa.
Neat destination if you're looking for a little road trip. They have a diamond there and you can play a game. That summer we did other baseball-y things, so I nick-named it Baseball Summer. This is Baseball Summer 2. All Trent's games, plus Callie started t-ball. And, in addition, after not going to a single game the last two summers, we have been to 3 Brewer's Games in the last month. The game with Trent's team,

No More Teachers, No More Books!
Schools out, Summer's Here! Yippee! We love, LOVE Summer!
It's amazing how fast you fall into that summer routine. Sleeping in, staying up late. Eating when ever. It's a good life! The kids earned a little down time. Just before school ended, they both walked into the kitchen, and in unison announced, "Look what we got!" So proud of themselves!
What a pleasant surprise public school turned out to be!
The end of the school year seemed to come at just the right time for the kids. The last few weeks were dotted with fun. Fieldtrips to the Zoo, A bike rodeo, Fishing Jamborree, all school show with Art Gallery and Olympics day. Gran picked up a fine piece of Art from a budding artist named Trent.
The Kindergarten had a special end of the school year show. Callie was so excited to be the cow. What a ham! Or should I say Ham-Burger!
Callie's teacher put together an amazing photoshow. It was set up month to month and showcased all the special things they learned, celebrated, or did. I even made the show from the Apple Barn field trip and the Zoo. Yup, the girl who is never in any pictures, made the kindergarten slide show! I went on most of the fieldtrips Callie's class went on this year. At the Zoo, we especially liked the new Butterfly Exhibit. It was fun to see the kids reactions when a Butterfly would land on them. They really liked Callie's hat.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom's out there. My Mom is an amazing Mom. For all the things she did and still does for us, I am so grateful. I hope some day my kids feel the same about me.
I was definitely feelin' the love this Mother's Day. My day started with the proverbial breakfast in bed. Callie got up even earlier for Mother's Day than she did when the Easter Bunny came. That made me feel special.
The kids gave me a Crown to wear. Queen for a day? I'm a Queen for Life! Trent made me a very creative Hershey Kiss Heart Card and invited me to go to a movie with him. HIS treat! Such a gentleman offering to pay! Callie made a nice clay creation at school.
We capped off the day with dinner at my favorite resturant, Kirches. You may remember I also celebrated my Birthday there. I even ordered dessert! A great day.

Mom, Can We Play Something?
Callie is always asking to play something....School, Queen and Princess, Dance Show, Art Shop, Pretty Pretty Princess. This time "Little Puppy" and "Liz" played with us. Aren't they pretty?
Trent was hesitant to join us considering the premise of the game. I finally convinced him that he could use the Malificent piece and he was a pirate collecting treasure. That was all it took, and he and I played a round even after Callie got bored of it!

Toothful Tales
Back in December 2009, after month's of being loose, Trent finally lost his first tooth. (Read about it here - Click on it) We have started to notice a trend. His second tooth had to be pulled by the dentist because his other tooth had completely grown in behind it.(Read about it here - Click on it). His third tooth has been just as stubborn, until we finally had to take matters into our own hands! This was March 10th. His teacher left me a voicemail saying he had an abscess in his gums, and she used to work for a dentist, and we should get it checked out. Lucky for us, Trent's dentist is also one of his hockey coaches and we'd be seeing him that night. He suggested we get the tooth out if we can otherwise, he could prescribe some antibiotics. Well, the later wasen't gonna happen, so operation tooth removal began. There was wiggling, there was twisting, there were even pliers involved. That tooth was so loose, but not coming out! Luckily Marshall was the man for this job, I am not good with this kind of stuff. Finally he wrapped a piece of floss up under the tooth, around the root. A swift yank (my stomach churns just recalling this!), a loud scream, a major gush of blood, and the tooth was out! A quick call to Coach Einer and that was that. Tooth out, abcess drained. Success! And an extra bump in the tooth fairy $ for the difficulty endured!
Now his fourth loose tooth has been no exception. Wiggly since the third tooth incident, but not coming out. And he really does work on them, it's not like he leaves them alone! Suprisingly he even still lets US near his teeth, but I don't think any of us could go through what we did with tooth #2 again!
Looking like a real hockey player, just in time for the tournament. The tournament where there are no winners and no loosers! (HA! We know. Won two games, lost the third, but who's counting!)
