Necessary Evils?

With the kids being sick, I have allowed a little bit more TV/Computer time. They need to chill for a little bit.

Callie chooses to watch the two disk Looney Tunes DVD Marshall picked up. Suddenly she is acting very violent? (Ha!) Maybe we should switch back to Barney. One good thing is she is suddenly fond of eating carrots just like Bugs Bunny.

I showed Trent how to do a Blackle search (the energy saving Google - I'm an energy nazi, more in a later blog.) He loves to look up Star Wars stuff. Somehow he found his way to YouTube. My computer is in the kitchen, so I monitor him closely. The craziest thing is he would even watch the foreign language ones. He spent better than 5 minutes watching a Star Wars video in German. I could translate some of it. At least those 4 years of German in H.S. with Frau Venne haven't been totally lost in my Mommy brain.

No News....

We were supposed to have a family camp out at school. The weather wasn't looking so good, so they re-scheduled it which was a relief because we had a couple other things going on too. Is 4 things in one day too much? It turns out the evening was beautiful, but the morning was a down pour.
In our house we have 2 TV's. The only TV that has cable (BASIC cable) is in our room, so needless to say we don't watch much. The kids crave it at the grandparents. I could watch it, but choose not to. I might be interested in some shows if I had TIVO or even a VCR to watch shows later when I had actually had the time. I don't even watch the news, which presents a problem when it comes to the ever changing WI weather. My Mom always razzes me because the kids are never dressed right! I think a LaCrosse weather station is in my future.
It seems the weather man was wrong again. Who needs the news!
