Chasing Callie!

Trent Time!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Callie has the same teacher Trent did, so I knew at Thanksgiving they make a decoration and write what they are thankful for.
When Callie told me she was thankful for her teacher I wasen't surprised. She wants to play teacher/student with me all the time and uses her teacher's exact words. Then she told me she was thankful for her daddy. I can appreciate that one too. When she actually brought the decoration home, it said, "I am thankful for my Mom."
I am thankful for you too my little Callie girl.

A Regular

I still have my bank in E.T. Whenever we drive through Callie asks if we, "can go to Dum Dum's". She calls the bank that because they give the kids Dum Dum suckers. I hope they never hear her say it, someone might get offended!
Yesterday we went and the bank teller remembered what flavor sucker Callie likes! It's like were regulars now. They know our order! This is why I love small towns.

Diego?

Last Week Marshall and I went to SanDiego. Marshall had a work conference, but I went for fun. When I told Callie where we were going she thought we were going to "See Diego." (Diego the animal rescuer from the cartoon, you know, Dora's cousin.)
I am seriously thinking I might need to get her hearing checked.
More about the trip soon on Jennyography.

Just Like Daddy

Besides having Marshall's hair color, cheeks and lips, Trent and Callie remind me of him in other ways.
Yesterday night Trent was watching TV while I was putting Callie to bed. After she was asleep, I went down to get Trent. Being the night owl that he is, just like Daddy, he wanted to watch one more show. I was tired and wanted to go to bed. Sometimes I'm in the mood for testing his maturity, so I told him one more show and he was responsible for turning everything off and getting into bed. I fully intended on checking on him in a half hour, but fell fast asleep til morning. Rare for me to sleep all night, but hooray for me! I wokeup and Trent was not in his bed. I went downstairs, all the lights were still on and so was the TV. Trent was laying on the beanbag with a blanket. I expected him to be asleep, but he was wide awake! I said, "Please don't tell me you watched TV all night!" You should have seen the smile on his face. "I wanted to try it! I did fall asleep for a little bit." Yes, this was a school night. Yes, he lost his TV privledges as punishment. I swear Marshall could watch TV all night, doze off for a little bit and pick right up where he left off.
Now of course Callie also has Marshall's blue eyes, so in looks she is more like Marshall. This next part of the story I would expect to come from Trent, not Callie. (She'll probably kill me when she reads this as a teenager!) At pick-up today Callie's teacher told me she had a "really big BM and they had to have a lesson on using the plunger." I knew Marshall would get a kick out of this, and when I told him he said, "That's Daddy's girl!" A father should be so proud!

What Rhymes With Vote?

I'm just going to pretend that it hasn't been a really long time since the last time I posted.(26 days! I can't believe it! Where have I been??? Everywhere, nowhere, driving! driving! driving!reading a book instead.)
Of course I did my patriotic duty(doody!) and voted today. Trent's teacher enouraged us to take the kids for the experience, so Callie, Trent and I went before school. The line took us about 15 minutes to get through. My sister waited 2 hours! The kids waited very patiently and Trent asked minimal questions, but, like a 6 year old would, with no regard, confirmed in his nicest inside voice, who we would be voting for.
The whole process took 20 minutes.
As we were walking out to the car, Callie starts crying. "But I thought we were going to go out on the water. You said we were going to go on the water!" I thought maybe she wanted to drink out of the bubbler (not the water fountain mind you.)
"You said we were going on the boat."
Oh Callie, I would have much rather taken you on a boat!
