Trent and I were taking turns reading a Thomas the Train book.
His line read: "Look at that!" Thomas gasped.
He read it: "Look at that!" Thomas gassed. And immediately made a fart noise. Later in the story two other engines "tooted", complete with their own little "Trent-effects". We both had some great laughs.
This knack for story re-telling comes from Marshall. The kids love to read with him. He puts a whole new spin on books complete with sound effects and ad-libs galore, sometimes totally making up a new story with the pictures.
One night I was listening to Trent read to Marshall. The picture showed a man sitting on a barrel, and the opposite page he was laying on the ground. The words read something like, "Ned sat on a keg." "Ned took a nap." Trent read, "Ned got drunk, Ned was dead!" He was laughing so hard! We all were! Another story we read was about a Dump Truck. I'm sure you can guess where he went with that one!
