Fisher-Girl

"Mom can we go fishing?" How can I say no to a request like that!
Twinkle Toes - we already know they are the shoe of choice for Cheerleading, apparently they are lucky fishing shoes too.No fish off the seawall, so we hiked it up the lake trail a bit. Little mud sliding gets ya right down to the action. The girl doesn't mind "getting her feet wet, and then of course, eventually her whole body!"I wish I can go fishing all the time."

Lego Me

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom's out there. My Mom is an amazing Mom. For all the things she did and still does for us, I am so grateful. I hope some day my kids feel the same about me.
I was definitely feelin' the love this Mother's Day. My day started with the proverbial breakfast in bed. Callie got up even earlier for Mother's Day than she did when the Easter Bunny came. That made me feel special.
The kids gave me a Crown to wear. Queen for a day? I'm a Queen for Life! Trent made me a very creative Hershey Kiss Heart Card and invited me to go to a movie with him. HIS treat! Such a gentleman offering to pay! Callie made a nice clay creation at school.
We capped off the day with dinner at my favorite resturant, Kirches. You may remember I also celebrated my Birthday there. I even ordered dessert! A great day.

Mom, Can We Play Something?

Callie is always asking to play something....School, Queen and Princess, Dance Show, Art Shop, Pretty Pretty Princess. This time "Little Puppy" and "Liz" played with us. Aren't they pretty?Trent was hesitant to join us considering the premise of the game. I finally convinced him that he could use the Malificent piece and he was a pirate collecting treasure. That was all it took, and he and I played a round even after Callie got bored of it!

Toothful Tales

Back in December 2009, after month's of being loose, Trent finally lost his first tooth. (Read about it here - Click on it) We have started to notice a trend. His second tooth had to be pulled by the dentist because his other tooth had completely grown in behind it.(Read about it here - Click on it). His third tooth has been just as stubborn, until we finally had to take matters into our own hands! This was March 10th. His teacher left me a voicemail saying he had an abscess in his gums, and she used to work for a dentist, and we should get it checked out. Lucky for us, Trent's dentist is also one of his hockey coaches and we'd be seeing him that night. He suggested we get the tooth out if we can otherwise, he could prescribe some antibiotics. Well, the later wasen't gonna happen, so operation tooth removal began. There was wiggling, there was twisting, there were even pliers involved. That tooth was so loose, but not coming out! Luckily Marshall was the man for this job, I am not good with this kind of stuff. Finally he wrapped a piece of floss up under the tooth, around the root. A swift yank (my stomach churns just recalling this!), a loud scream, a major gush of blood, and the tooth was out! A quick call to Coach Einer and that was that. Tooth out, abcess drained. Success! And an extra bump in the tooth fairy $ for the difficulty endured!
Now his fourth loose tooth has been no exception. Wiggly since the third tooth incident, but not coming out. And he really does work on them, it's not like he leaves them alone! Suprisingly he even still lets US near his teeth, but I don't think any of us could go through what we did with tooth #2 again!Looking like a real hockey player, just in time for the tournament. The tournament where there are no winners and no loosers! (HA! We know. Won two games, lost the third, but who's counting!)

A Rolling Flashback!

I thought it was hilarious when they had a rollerskating unit in gym class. Not rollerblading. ROLLERSKATING! I never did like rollerskating, but the parents were invited to join the gym class, so I decided to strap a pair on for old times sake. With all Trent's hockey he was a natural.
Now flash forward a month and Callie was invited to a Birthday Party at a rolling skating rink! Did not even know people still did that! I realize this is 2011, but it could have easily been 1987! The place was the same. In fact, I'm pretty sure they just locked the doors for 24 years, and one day decided to unlock em, flip on the power to the disco ball and reopen. Same DJ in a referee jersey. Same carpeted walls. Same limbo and dice game. Awe-some! I was totally taken back! Nothing like good clean fun!Callie was one of the limbo winners, free Slushie! Trent made sure to request Electric Avenue. After the DJ played it Trent asked me for a dollar so he could tip him. Who's this fancy kid been hanging out with?

Hunting?

Well, it's supposed to be an Easter Egg HUNT, but it's more like an Easter Egg Scramble. The eggs are everywhere, but you gotta be the first one to em.
Poor Trent, stomach flu. No scrambling for him. Callie said she'd share. We'll see.....
Firefighter Callie
Finally a sunny day! Happy Easter!
