First Day of School 2011

As much as I tried to keep it away, the first day of school came anyway! Callie was up before her alarm and raring to go. She had her outfit picked out the night before. We dropped her school supplies off a couple days ago, but her empty backpacked was lined up by the door ready. We had time to take pictures, make a last minute cold lunch for Callie and somehow we were even early enough the kids were sitting in the car waiting for me to finish getting ready.

The second day of school we were late. Go figure!!!

Goodbye Summer

We are officially saying goodbye to summer. In this our last two days, we really took advantage of the freedom of Labor Day Weekend.
One night sleep totals:
Mom - 11.5 hours
Callie - 12.5 hours
Trent - 14 hours
Sure will miss those days! We'd have to go to bed at 6:30pm to get that on a school night! Right... hockey will just be starting at that time!

Opewation Wabbit Wescue and the Weaky Window Well!

We find all kinds of things in out basement window wells. This time it was a tiny baby rabbit.

Trent loves any reason to climb around in there. Most recently we've had soooo much rain the ground has been saturated and now our basement is leaking. The window well spung a leak and filled up to the base of the window!

We spent an hour bailing water out of it! That was a panic! So glad we were home to notice it happening! I would much rather find frogs in the window well than water!

Gettin' Caught-Up

Well, it's been a month since we went up to the cabin. Time to get "caught-up" on all the fun! We caught lots of fish.We really killed em! The mosquito's that is!!! Check out the swarm by the door.Trent caught me in go-cart racing and Callie and I got caught stranded on the course. I was in the lead for mini-golf until my ball kept getting caught in the water hazard - 4 times!!! We caught up on our sleep. We caught feathers at the Indian Pow-Wow. We caught swimmers itch and a sunburn at Leech Beach.I must have been distracted by getting caught in the rain the first couple of days, or the statment Callie made, "I'm Dad's daughter, and HEeee doesn't WANnnnt me to wear sunscreen!" We got caught on film for our annual family picture. And, We caught another great bunch of memories.

BaseBall Summer 2 Continued....

It wouldn't be baseball summer without mentioning ALL the baseball-y things we did.
Callie played on her first T-Ball team. And I helped coach! Quite entertaining those little 5 and 6 yr olds!

4th of July

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
We had to pick-up some last minute items at the store and the reciept total came to $17.76. The cashier didn't get it. Kids these days!
The weather couldn't have been better. Each night the sunsets were amazing. Two dilema's with our family fireworks. I missed the memo on what day they were happening and was not prepared with the camera. Of course I HAD my camera, but the battery was running REALLY low and my card was full after Marshall's Africa trip. I had resigned myself to not taking any fireworks pics this year. It might be fun to just watch them anyway. Luckily Kim's Cousin Mark saved the day. He is a professional and also shoots with Canon. I couldn't believe it, but his battery fit my camera! We heard rumors that there wasn't going to be a parade this year, but it was back in full force! Owen one-up'd the extend-o-net from last year.Love that. Can't wait to see what we come up with next year. I keep expecting all the kids across the street to show up with nets or something, but they never do, and all the candy just keeps flying our way! The people love us!What do you get when you add Red, White, Blue and Orange?Walking Taco's on the 4th of July that's what! What's more American than that? Well, maybe Baseball! Great time playing in the field, complete with picnic table backstopCallie has gotten most adventure-some!The Supra just doesn't go fast enough for this girl. Too fast for Jack though! With a lot of encouragement and a final go-or-get-off ultimatium, she jumped off the high-dive all by herself.Trent had some high-flying fun!I know Trent was there for the week long celebration, but I didn't see him much. He was very busy in the paddleboat with his turtle net. I think the grand total was 9 turtles. Plus several dragonflies and a couple frogs and toads. We all had an amazing week. It's hard to fathom how unbelieveably lucky we are to make these memories together.
