A Rolling Flashback!

I thought it was hilarious when they had a rollerskating unit in gym class. Not rollerblading. ROLLERSKATING! I never did like rollerskating, but the parents were invited to join the gym class, so I decided to strap a pair on for old times sake. With all Trent's hockey he was a natural.
Now flash forward a month and Callie was invited to a Birthday Party at a rolling skating rink! Did not even know people still did that! I realize this is 2011, but it could have easily been 1987! The place was the same. In fact, I'm pretty sure they just locked the doors for 24 years, and one day decided to unlock em, flip on the power to the disco ball and reopen. Same DJ in a referee jersey. Same carpeted walls. Same limbo and dice game. Awe-some! I was totally taken back! Nothing like good clean fun!Callie was one of the limbo winners, free Slushie! Trent made sure to request Electric Avenue. After the DJ played it Trent asked me for a dollar so he could tip him. Who's this fancy kid been hanging out with?

Hunting?

Well, it's supposed to be an Easter Egg HUNT, but it's more like an Easter Egg Scramble. The eggs are everywhere, but you gotta be the first one to em.
Poor Trent, stomach flu. No scrambling for him. Callie said she'd share. We'll see.....

The chicken or the egg?We got to experience both! And ducks too! Our neighbor invited us to go with her and her Granddaughter to their friends farm to see the new babies!
Trent once again proving his way with animals. These little guys would just calmly relax in his gentle hands.

Fired-up

StoneFire that is. Made the yearly trek. We timed it right. The place was barely busy. Almost tolerable!Do it yourself face paint and Icee's, and oh yes, there's more.... I do have a slight addiction to the quarter-dozer thing. It's like hitting a slot machine every time those quarters fall and the tickets come pouring out! Trent must have gone on the bumpercars 20 times! When I strike it rich, I'm totally putting a bumpercar track in my basement! (The video gets good 30 sec into it! Haven't figured out how to edit I-pod videos!)

We woke up to 2 inches of the fluffy stuff this morning and hard to believe, but we made our first snow man of the winter. (Even though I'd like to think this is supposed to be SPRING! A great way to kick off the kids Spring Break!)
Trent had an excellent Frosty all built. I went in to get my camera, but as he was putting the mouth on, this is what I came out to find. The whole thing toppled! Poor snowman! Poor Trent. All that hard work!

Sew Cute!

Wow I wish I could sew! One of a few crafts I wish I would make the time to learn and add to my list of things dabble in.
